GLV represents all the Greater London Volunteer Centres, as well as volunteer development agencies. They deliver volunteering support services to 26,634 registered charities, 70,000 community groups and 5,000 social enterprises; supporting and developing 2.5million volunteers, bringing an extra £932 million of value to services, activities and communities across the Capital.
GLV is capacity building; increasing the quality of volunteering by strategically co-ordinating the development of volunteering services and opportunities across London.
GLV informs and promotes; recruiting more volunteers by increasing the amount and diversity of advertising and marketing activity in London, and by encouraging partnership between development agencies and frontline organisations.
GLV represents and consults, informing government regionally and nationally on the benefits of volunteering. We advocate for our members, and help our users advocate on their own behalf.
GLV is inclusive and reflects London’s population; increasing the participation of volunteers from all of London’s communities. Championing the rights of the individual and of equality groups, we ensure that everyone can help someone or something and, in turn, help themselves.
