Volunteering can take many shapes or forms depending on your interests and passions. You can search all their opportunities online, go there for a chat or workshop, or get in touch with them for an information pack. They list all opportunities on do-it, the national volunteering database.
If you are unsure what you would like to do or where to start then get in touch. They are open for drop-ins on Tuesdays from 10am – 6pm and Thursdays 10am – 4pm so you can walk in and talk to one of the team. You will receive information and advice about volunteering opportunities that match your interests, skills and availability. You will be able to search through 100s of opportunities and get in touch with organisations you are interested in while you are with us. They also offer 45 minute one-to-one appointments at different times each week so give them a call to find out when the next ones are. They are also very happy to provide information, advice and support over the phone on 0800 018 5692.
Volunteer Centre Soutwark also helps organisations recruit volunteers. They aim to give organisations the opportunity to advertise their volunteering vacancies to as wide an audience as possible for free. Every year, they have around 3000 people registering with them, who would like to become volunteers in Southwark. They promote your volunteering vacancies on the national volunteering database www.do-it.org.uk, holding outreach events and providing information and advice to potential volunteers on an individual basis. For more information on how to create volunteer roles and the kind of information potential volunteers look for please visit Volunteer Centre Southwark website . If you have questions about registering contact the good practice team on 0207 703 4205 or email goodpractice@volunteercentres.org.uk
